Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP)

Military pay stops when a retiree passes away.  The SBP is a Government program which makes it possible for retiring members to ensure their eligible survivors receive a portion of their military retired pay in the form of a monthly annuity.
All Air Force personnel (regardless of marital status) with an approved retirement date must attend a one-on-one SBP briefing prior to retiring.  Spouses are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to attend.  The SBP Counselor will notify you via email with an appointment date/time and SBP cost and annuity estimates.

Your SBP Counselor can be reached at 634-3228/3366 or 18fss.fsfrcasualtyassistance@kadena.af.mil

Primary SBP Counselor:  Minnie O. Lanier
Alternate SBP Counselor:  Hiroko Bush
