The Teen Center Millennium is located inside Nakayoshi Youth Program Complex, bldg. 499 at the Kuter/Vincent intersection.  The teen center offers opportunities for teens to develop their physical, social, emotional and cognitive abilities and to experience achievement, leadership, enjoyment, friendship and recognition.  Our daily program activities are diverse, engaging, and appealing to teens of all ages and backgrounds. 
Being a teen has never been this much fun:
  • Cyber Café equipped with 14 computers accessible to the internet, 2 designated homework computers with printer, and 2 technology enhancing computers for digital art.
  • Multi-Purpose room with D.J. counter, X-Box 360 systems, Game Cube systems, WII system, and Playstation systems.  A selection of over 200 video games, DDR system, Karaoke system and four interactive gaming bikes.
  • Keystone Café and Keystone Lounge are areas that provide teens with a place to chill out with their friends.
  • Keystone Theater 2 – is a mini theater inside the teen center that offers movies for teens to enjoy.

The Kadena Youth Center, located in Bldg. 1849, is affiliated with the Boys and Girls Club of America.

The Youth Center sponsors activities, events, and services designed to meet the recreational, social, psychological, and educational development of youth ages 6-12. This facility offers a wide range of educationally enhanced programs, instructional classes, and events for children on Kadena. The Youth Center provides a safe and fun environment supervised by caring and well-trained staff.

• Classes in areas such as ballet, gymnastics, martial arts & more


The Kadena School Age Program is located in Bldg. 439 across from the Kadena Base library.

The School Age Program offers before and after school programming as well as full day programming during holidays and school breaks. Available to students grades 1 - 6, the facility is supervised and provides a safe and healthy environment for children. The program is affiliated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of  America.

The Kadena Youth Sports & Fitness office is located at Nakayoshi Youth Complex, Bldg. 499. Youth Sports & Fitness is co-located with the Teen Center.  Office hours are from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday–Friday. Reservations to use the gym can be requested during regular business hours; however, Youth Program activities have priority.

Philosophy:
The Kadena Youth Sports & Fitness philosophy is to offer a wide array of opportunities for participation in organized sports and fitness activities. Program emphasis is on participation. Each child is guaranteed playing time during a game. We focus on individual and team effort more than winning and losing. Through youth sports, children can develop an enthusiasm for participation, which can be the foundation for life long interest in personal fitness and good health.

--  Adult Supervision is defined as someone 18 years or older who has or assumes responsibility
        for the child, e.g. parent, guardian, care provider, friend.
--  Babysitter is someone between the ages of 12 and 17 (paid or unpaid).
--  Care Provider is a person designated by sponsor who accepts responsibility for children.
--  Designated Adult is a specific prearranged individual who accepts responsibility for children.
--  Access is when the child has the ability to make immediate face-to-face contact with the adult.
--  Checking Periodically is when the designated adult/care provider or sponsor and child have a face-to-face meeting.
--  Left alone overnight is when a sponsor or designated adult/care provider is not physically present.
--  Public areas include parks, playgrounds, sports fields, recreational areas and other public areas.
--  Unsupervised means when a child is not constantly monitored by the sponsor or a designated adult/care provider.
*Installation or Camp Commanders with elementary schools will determine their respective requirements.

CURFEW:  Applies to all persons under the age of 18 must be in quarters or with parent/designated adult during restriction times.
Off Base - Within Okinawa Prefecture: 2200-0400 Sunday through Saturday
On Base - 2200-0530 weekdays (Sunday night through Thursday morning)
2400-0530 weekends and holidays (Friday morning through Sunday morning or from the evening preceding a holiday through the morning of that holiday)
